He married Della Wise Mullins on August 24, 1899. Della Wise was the daughter of Wallace B. and Alva Mullins. She was born on November 28, 1885 in Wise County , Va. and died on March 3,1955 in Knott County . They are buried at the Joe Hall Cemetery at Dry Creek.

Loretta Hall was born on April 2, 1906 in Knott County . She died on January 27, 1991 in Wood County WV. She married Nathan Luther Smith on September 20, 1920. Nathan was the son of Jasper and Evertta Fox Smith. He was born on July 26, 1887 and died in December of 1967. Loretta then married Harlan James on April 3, 1971. Harlan was the son of Isaac and Cora Bell James. He was born February 21, 1904 on and died in April of 1983 in Wood County West Virginia.
