Nicholas Ritchie.

Nicholas Ritchie, the son of Alexander Crocket Ritchie & Susan Elizabeth Grigsby was born abt 1825 in Perry co, Ky, he died Jan 11^th, 1904 in Flood Mountain, Logan County, Arkansas, he is found on the 1850 census of Perry County, age 25 yrs old, he was in the Army, he was a CSA pvt co, 10^th Regiment of mounted rifles. On the census it said that he was a farmer with land value of  $100.00.

He moved to Arkansas sometime after 1851, with wife and children and brothers Isom,

Hiram, Gabriel and two sisters, one was Naomi (Ritchie) Sisemore.

Nicholas Ritchie married Nancy Patrick, the daughter of Hugh Patrick & Barbara Bailey, on the 1850 census, Nancy was 26 yrs old, so that would make her birth date abt 1824, on the census, their children were John age 12, Martha age 10, Isom age 8, Sylvania age 5, Hannah age 4 and Mahala age 18 months old.

The census stated that Nicholas and Nancy could not read or write.

Nancy Ritchie b abt 1858 in Madison Co, AR.
