Christopher C. Slone
Age 84, of Softshell, Ky., died on Friday, November 29, 2002, at East Ridge Medical Center, Chattanooga, Tennessee, after a short illness.   He   was born on November 22, 1918, at Softshell, Ky., the son of Marion Slone and Sarah Triplett Slone.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a former Knott County magistrate, and a WW II Air Force Veteran.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Morris Slone; two daughters, Diane Trujillo and Mrs. Jim (Susan) Micka, both of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two sisters, Lovenia Conley of Softshell, Ky. and Gladys Workman of McGabeysville, Virginia; three grandchildren, Patrick (Brook) Kelly, Shawn Kelly, and Damian Alvarado; three great-grandchildren, Savannah Kelly, Sylvia Alvarado, and Olivia Micka; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, December 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, Hindman, Ky., with Clyde Wicker, Jr. officiating.  Military graveside services were conducted by the Garrett Chapter of the DAV with burial following in Marion Slone Cemetery, Softshell, Ky., under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services.
