ASSASSINATED FROM AMBUSH IN MOUNTAINS
RICHARD HALL KILLED AND ANDREW THORNSBURY FATALLY WOUNDED

Sergent, Ky., July 19. - Richard Hall and Andrew Thornsbury were shot from ambush on Beaver Creek, a few miles from here.  Hall was the wealthiest in the mountains and Mr. Thornsbury is a brother of James Thornsbury, Justice of Knott County.  Hall was hit in the arm and side and died shortly afterward

Thornsbury was hit in he left side of the back. Dr. Duke was summoned and pronounced his wound fatal.  An old feud has existed between the Hall family and another prominent family in the county and further trouble is expected
