Man and Wife Given $600 Fines And Long Sentences
Three Scioto County persons were tried in federal
court at Cincinnati Thursday on liquor charges.
Kelly Risner..alias Miller was fined $600 and given a sentence of 15
months on three charges, owning an unregistered still, possession of
mash illegally. His wife, Gracie Risner was given a year and a
day and fined $600 when it was shown that they owned the house
jointly. Charles McKenzie charged with operating a still, was
dismissed.
State dry agents arrested pair during a raid in Madison township
Dec. 3, when a 75-gallon still and nine barrels of mash were
confiscated. In the raid, Risner ran from the house and was
wounded slightly by an enforcement agent.
