Jay Draughon Was Arrested at Fair Play Colo.
Denver, Colo., Sep 13, --John A. Draughon, Deputy
Sheriff of Knott County, Kentucky, arrived from Fair
Play tonight bringing his cousin, Jay Draughon, who is
wanted in Kentucky for the murder of Ben Cunningham,
committed in 1891. Jay Draughon, on August 18, in a
quarrel with R. A. L. Daughon, father of John, near Fair
Play, shot and killed him in self-defense, a bullet from
his assailant lodging in his shoulder. making an ugly
wound. Arriving in Denver, the wounded man could go no
further and e was taken to a hotel. The Draughon belong
to a family having a feud of long standing with the Hall
family if Knott County and both Jay and R. A. L. Daughon
left Kentucky because of it. Jay says he did not kill
Cunningham and is will to go back.
