Emmitt
Triplett Retires.

Emmitt
Triplett graduated from Eastern State Teachers College,
(which is now Eastern Kentucky University at
Richmond, KY) Tuttle while they both were attending college,
they both taught school
near Floyd Co. KY. They lived in Mousie, Knott Co.
KY. After they
began their family, Emmitt decided that he was going to go to Ohio
were the
teacher's pay
was better. He was both principal and teacher in a school in Springfield, Ohio
for a
year or two; when
his contract
was up he told them he was
leaving that school district. His
reasons? Emmitt told me he
had to get back to some hilly land, as he had always lived
where there was hills
and mountains. The Triplet
family moved
to Mason near Cincinnati, Ohio, where Emmitt still lives.
Emmitt Triplett
served in WW II. He was named to the Ohio Teacher's Hall of Fame. Emmitt
Triplett, son of Ellis Triplett & Arty Gibson b. January 05, 1916, Mousie,
Knott Co. KY. Married Virgie Tuttle, October 13, 1949. Virgie was the daughter
of John Tuttle & Minerva Lewis, she died
January 15, 1999 in Mason, OH. Emmitt and Vergie were blessed with the birth of
three daughters; Janet Triplett, stillborn; Carolyn Triplett 1945-1987; married
Joseph Sando and Teresa Triplett b.1953, married Ralph Hodgson; Teresa &
Ralph live in Florida. Emmitt and Virgie have 2 grandchildren. In early 2001
Emmitt moved from Ohio to Wellington, Florida to live with his daughter and
son-in-law, Teresa & Ralph Hodgson. |
