Jackson, Shirley May -Age 69 went home to be with our Lord at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 5:15 PM. She was born in Bath, Kentucky on May 9, 1936 the daughter of Joseph R. and Matilda (Tolliver) Adams. Shirley was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a lifetime member of DAV Women's Auxiliary. On November 12, 1955 in New Miami, she married Rev. Andrew Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Andrew Jackson of Hamilton; two sons, Gregory Jackson and his wife Andrea of Hamilton and Steven Jackson and his wife Connie of Fairfield; one daughter, Belinda Shackelford and her husband Gary of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Erica and her husband Richard Usher, Rebecca Shackelford, and Amber, Krystal, Brittany, Elaina, and Alyssa Jackson; six great-grandchildren, Savannah, Valencia, and Ziona Usher, and Alexia, Jaelyn, and Mariha Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and six brothers. Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, March 27, 2006 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Marvin Loudermilk and Rev. Tom Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Jacobs, Burchel D. -age 61, of Pinetop,
Kentucky, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at Appalachian Regional Hospital,
Whitesburg, Kentucky. He was born on March 22, 1943, in Knott County, Kentucky,
the son of the late Isom B. and Della Caudill Jacobs. He was preceded in death
by his parents; one daughter, Sharon K. Jacobs; three brothers and five sisters.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Clifton Dean (Tammy) Jacobs of
Litt Carr, Kentucky; one daughter and son-in-law, Mellisa Gayle (Gregory) Pratt
of Sassafras, Kentucky; three brothers, Lovel (Sharlene) Jacobs and Dallas Ray
Jacobs, both of Pinetop, Kentucky and Finley (Kathlene) Jacobs of Avaco,
Michigan; two sisters, Lilly Allan of Pinetop, Kentucky and Marie (Tim) Bolt of
Macone, Michigan; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on

Jacobs, Virginia Mae of Ligonier, age 58 died at 12:31 am Wednesday Oct 29, 2003 at Elkhart General Hospital; Mrs. Jacobs was employed at Tenneco Automotive as a machine operator. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Wolcottville and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was born Feb 15 1945, in Hindman, Ky. to Arthur and Juanita (Jackson) Ritchie. Her mother survives in Ligonier and her father is deceased. On July 17, 1965, in Rome City, she married Charles Jacobs. He died in February. Also survivi8ng are a daughter, Shanda Jacobs of Ligonier, a son, Terry Jacobs of Ligonier, four sisters, Hazel Jacobs of Ligonier, Martha Halsey of Ligonier, Debbie Heise of North Webster and Alpha Wilcox of Fort Wayne: Five brothers, Oscar Ritchie of Hindman, Ky., Charles Ritchie of Kimmell, Ind, and Arthur Ritchie , Bobby Ritchie and Dannie Ritchie all of Ligonier: Five grandchildren, David, Derek, Desiree, Chase and Skyla and sever nephews and nieces. Jefferies, Georgia Blair -age 76, of Madison, Indiana died at Kings
Daughters Hospital, Madison, Indiana. She was born June 29, 1929, in Smithsboro,
Kentucky, the daughter of the late Sim & Martha (Francis) Blair. She was a 1949
graduate of Carr Creek High School and attended business school. She moved to
the Madison community 44 years ago from Muncie, Indiana, where she had lived for
10 years. A memorial service will be held this fall in Knott County. The date
of the memorial service will be announced at a later time.

2007at her home. She was born in Anco, Kentucky on December 20, 1946 to Arlie

Jent, Arnold -age 86, of
Redfox, Kentucky, died on Monday, December 20, 2004, at his home. He was born on
November 27, 1918, the son of the late Wiley and Tallie Gayheart Jent. He was
preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Linda Combs.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Irene Fields Jent; one
daughter, Brenda Gibson of Manitou, Kentucky; one stepson, Ronney Caudill of
Blackey, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Debbie Adams of Martinsville, Indiana;
three grandchildren, Scott Gibson, Brett Gibson, and Matt Gibson; four
step grandchildren, Janet Ridener, Emily Adams, David Combs and Benjie Caudill;

Johnson, Alma, Age 82 of Hamilton passed away at HCR Manor Care,
Cincinnati, on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at 8:30 AM. She was born in Clay
County, Kentucky on June 30, 1923 the daughter of Robert and Sophia (Mills)
Eversole. Alma was employed as a clerk for Federated Department Store for 14
years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church and O.E.S.
Washington Chapter #195. On December 20, 1941 in Clay County, she married John
Johnson. She is survived by her husband, John Johnson of Harrison; two sons,
Edward (Darlene) Johnson of Troy, Illinois and Robert (Mary) Johnson of Cleves;
one daughter, Linda (Danny) Walden of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren,
Charlie, John, Annette, Lisa, and Amy; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister,

Johnson, Chloe--81 of Boise, passed to the next life Wednesday morning at
the Boise Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm, Saturday,
May 22, at Summers Funeral Home, Boise Chapel. James Roberts and Robert
O'Hara will officiate. Burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. A
reception and dinner will be held at the graveside at the Church of Christ, 1555
N. Linder Rd., Meridian. Chloe was born June 26, 1917 in Yale Ark., a
daughter of Henry C. and Sarah Ann Ritchie Weatherby. She contracted polio
on her ninth birthday, resulting in significant paralysis in her legs. During
the Depression her family relocated briefly to Stroud, Okla. before moving to
Meridian, Idaho, in 1934, Called "Clara Cloe" by her mother, Chloe changed her
name as a young teenager. She graduated from the Excelsis Beauty School in
Boise, May 31, 1941, and worked as a professional beautician and small business
owner for several years. She married Carl E. Johnson, originally of Winlock,
Oregon on June 29, 1952 and the two lived in Boise on Vista Avenue, in 1957, on
his way to was as a grader and superintendent of a lumber mill in Mountain Home,
Carl died in a car accident, a victim of a drunk driver. Chloe and Carl were
baptized into Christ soon after their marriage. Chloe was an original member of
the group of Christians which began assembling at the 25th and Regan Street in
Boise in the early 1960's and which now meets on Linder Road in Meridian. She
was a very active participant in the congregation until her health began to fail
in the 1980's. Chloe and her son moved in 1960 to a small acreage on
Pierce Park Lane where she enjoyed gardening and country living. The
family moved to a home on Pomona Street in 1975. A lover of the forest,
she along with the Emery family, spent many enjoyable hours constructing a
vacation cabin near Camp Ivydale in Idaho City, Idaho. She is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sharon Johnson, and grandchildren, Sharla and
Ben, of Georgia VT. She was preceded in death by her parents: her two brothers,
Ermal and William Weatherby, and two children who died before birth. The
family wishes to thank Mary O'Hara and her family for their loving care of Chloe
over the past three years as she suffered from post-polio syndrome, dementia and
cancer. Friends may call today, Friday, from 5-8 pm at Summers Funeral Home,
Boise Chapel.

Johnson, Earl ~ Age 92, of Germantown, OH, passed away August 12, 2009. Earl
was born in Yellow Mountain, KY on July 15, 1917 to the late Jesse and Margaret
(Conley) Johnson. Earl served in the CCC's from 1936 to 1937 and was a WWII
veteran serving in the USAAF until his discharge in 1946. Earl was a member of
the Towne Boulevard Church of God in Middletown, OH. Earl worked for 40 years at
Armco Steel Corporation in Middletown, retiring from the Electric Power
Department in 1983. Since 1949, Earl has been active in Farming in the
Germantown area. Earl loved to travel and he especially enjoyed the trips he
made with Pearl to spend the winter in Florida and trips to the Great Smokey
Mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving
wife of 70 years Pearl (Cox) Johnson, two children, Oleta and Merville; a
grandson, David Scott Johnson; three brothers, Audie Johnson, Allie Johnson, and
Woodrow Johnson; two sisters, Gladys Hamilton and Betty Arapies. He is survived
by two sons, Lloyd (Judy) Johnson of Germantown, OH and Winston Dale (Betty)
Johnson of Middletown, OH and his daughter Charlotte Kay Phelps of Germantown;

Johnson, Nelle Hays -93, of Ashland Terrace Retirement Home, Lexington and
of Carr Creek, KY, died July 20, 2006. She was born in Hazard, KY, the daughter
of Lula and Doug Hays. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard
"Sprout" Johnson. Surviving are two children, Ann (Denver) Pratt of Carr Creek,
and Richard (Karen) Johnson of Lexington; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Gary)
Larking, Ginger (Todd) Patton, Brooke (Jason) Hiltz, Todd Johnson, and two great
grandchildren, Justin Pratt and Matthew Patton. Also surviving is a brother,
Stanley Hays, Arlington, VA, many loving nieces and nephews , former students, a
special friend, Charles Tignor, and the Ashland Terrace "gals." She attended
Caney Junior College, Tusculum College, Morehead State Teachers College, and
graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1938. She was a devoted and much
loved educator, beginning her teaching career in Lexington, followed by 25 years
at Carr Creek Elementary and high school. A charter member of Smithsboro
Baptist, she served the church in many capacities, including 40 years as a
Sunday School teacher and many years as church treasurer. She was a long time
member of the Knott County Homemakers Club and attended many national club
conventions. Her last six years were spent at Ashland Terrace Retirement Home in
Lexington, where she participated in volunteer activities, including Cassidy
Elementary School, the VA Hospital, and Best Friends. Visitation will be Fri,
July 21, from 6-9 p.m. at Hindman Funeral Services with funeral services at 11
a.m., Sat, July 22, at Hindman Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers,

away on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at his residence. He was born on March 20, 1941
in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of David C. and Amanda (Baker) Johnson. He was
preceded in death by his parents
and a son, Paul Johnson, Jr. He is survived by five daughters, Paula Hartwell of
Mason, Polly Wright of Middletown, Misty Johnson, Amber Johnson and Amanda

Johnson, Robert L. ~ age 67, of rural LaGrange County, died on Thursday,
October 22, 2009 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Pippa Passes, Kentucky on January 24, 1942 to the late Joe and
Bossie (Jacobs) Johnson. He married Emily L. Bolen on April 3, 1958 in
Hindman, Kentucky. Robert was a foundry worker at Newnam Foundry and
Kendallville Foundry both in Kendallville before his early retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the Harbor Of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville. Survivors
include: His wife, Emily Bolen Johnson of LaGrange. Daughter, Linda and Wilford
Slone of Kendallville. Daughter, Wanda and Rev. Charles Mosley of Kendallville.

Johnson, Sola Mae Age 73, of Middletown, OH went to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Willow Knoll Nursing Home. Sola was born in Breathitt
County, KY on April 9, 1933 to Irvine and Betsy (Raleigh) Spicer. She was self
employed for 50 years in Middletown, Illinois, and Florida and retired in 1997.

Jones, Albert - Funeral services for Albert Jones, 63, Milan, were
Friday, May 20, 2005, at the Little Memory Old Regular Baptist Church, Spades,
Ind., with burial in Little Memory Cemetery. Cook Funeral Home, Sunman, was in
charge of arrangements. Mr. Jones died Monday, May 16, at home. He was a member
of Big Creek Old Regular Baptist Church, DuPont, Ind. He was a U.S. Army veteran
who served in the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Anna Lee; two sons,
James Jones, Hallie, Ky., and Rob Jones, Osgood; two daughters, Rachaelle Hall,
Milan, and Callie Jones, Sunman; two brothers, Bruce Jones and Delbert Jones,
both of Longfork, Ky.; two sisters, Odessa Lewis, Longfork, Ky., and Dorothy
Roark, Scipio, Ind., and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the
family.

Jones, Arthur "Rod" ~ age 99, of Hindman, passed away August 31, 2009, at the
Hazard ARMC. He was born in Knott County on October 4, 1909, to John A. Jones
and Sarah Craft Jones. He was preceded in death by his Wife of 51 Years, Gladys
Hall Jones and 1 son: David Alexander Jones. He is survived by 4 sons: Hagan
(Jewel Pratt) Jones, Bill (Elsie Bates) Jones, Harold (Polly Culpepper) Jones
and Arthur Jr. (Anna) Jones; daughters: Virginia Tolliver (Col James) Long and
Sarah (Ray) Pratt; brother: John Vernon (Geraldine) Jones; sisters: Mrs. Olive
(Melvin) Long and Mrs. Georgetta (Charlie) Cornett; 18 grandchildren, 27 great
grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at
11 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel

Jones, Bobby Gene age 64, of Melvin, Kentucky, died on Sat. Oct. 2,
2004. He was born on December 14, 1939, the son of Icy Lee Johnson Jones and
the late Tim Jones. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 6,

Jones, Christopher Brian "Peeper" ~ age 25, of Amburgey, passed away Saturday,
October 17, 2009, at his home. He was born July 16, 1984 at Hazard. He is
survived by his parents: Lawrence Wayne Jones and Christine Everage Jones of
Amburgey; 1 Brother- Kenneth Wayne Jones of Amburgey; 1 Niece- Kaleigh Daun
Jones; and a host of aunts and uncles. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on

Jones, Cleo Faye age 66, of Whitesburg, Ky., died on Monday, October 18,
2004, at the Appalachian Regional Health Care Center, Whitesburg, Ky. She was
born on Sept. 13, 1938, the daughter of the late Lenville and Carrie Mae
Stallard Adams. Funeral services were conducted on Wed., Oct. 20, at 2:00 p.m., at Letcher
Funeral Home, Whitesburg, Ky., with Jack Sparks and Roy Campbell officiating.
Burial followed in Adams-Stallard Cemetery, Crafts Colley, Ky., under the

the home of his daughter, in Danville, Indiana. He was born on April 21, 1948,

Vietnam War veteran.

at his residence. He was born January 7, 1923, the son of the late Harrison and
Easter Hicks Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Johnny
Jones; three brothers: Charlie Jones, Harold Jones and Hobert Jones and one
sister: Dorothy McKenzie. He is survived by his wife: Irene Johnson Jones; one

Felton of Michigan; one brother: Edward Lee Jones of Hueysville; three sisters:

Jones, Earmin B. 62, of 261 State St., Fairborn, died early Friday at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was a custodian for Fairborn Recreation Center and member of the Church of God. Born September 9, 1912 in Waco, Kentucky, the son of Webb and Susie Todd Jones. Survivors include his widow, Ida; five daughters, Mrs. (Ronald) Frances Zerkle and Mrs. William (Mary) Wilson, both of Fairborn, Mrs. Delmer (Fannie) Lewis of Dayton, Mrs. Marvin (Betty) Bowman of Trotwood and Mrs. Robert (Ida Mae) Sweeney of New Mexico: a son, Thomas W. Jones of Fairborn; a sister, Mrs. Ann Dunnaway of Florida; four brothers, Preston, Alex, and Martin, all of Kentucky, and Webb Jones Jr. of Fairborn; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Ancil Carter in Morris Sons Funeral Home, Fairborn, where the family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Jones, Filmore Lester -age 90, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Clearfield, Kentucky, died on Thursday, January 6, 2005, at Willow Brook Nursing Home, Columbus, Ohio. He was born on October 1, 1914, in Rowan County, Kentucky, the son of the late Clell J. and Lucy Jones. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a former painter. He is survived by two daughters, Nadean Hone of Portsmouth, Ohio and Wanda Burnett of Mousie, Kentucky; one brother, Gilbert Jones of Jupiter, Florida; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jones, Gerald L. "J. J." ~ age 50, was born April 6, 1959, and departed this
life on Sunday, October 25, 2009, at home in Bulan. He was born in Hazard, the
son of the late Andrew Jones and Josephine Godsey Jones. He was a truck driver
by trade and enjoyed four wheeling and gardening.
He is survived by: Mother--Josephine Godsey Jones of Bulan; Grandmother--Norma
Godsey of Bulan; 2 brother--Dale Jones & Wife Pamela and Jody Jones & friend
Linda both of Bulan; 1 sister--Angela Brashear & husband Todd of Christopher;

Jones, Glen H. 69, of Fairborn, died Monday,
August 9, 1999 in Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1930 in
Williamsburg,
Kentucky. He was a member of the American Legion Dignam-Whitmore Post 526 and
the Fraternal Order of Eagles Wright Aerie 2641.He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Dennis Thornsberry of
New Haven, Kentucky; and Sandy and Joe Fazio of
Springfield; a son, Jerry Baker of Dayton; five grandchildren, Todd and
Amber Baker, Josh and Tara Thornsberry, and Brian Fazio; two half-sisters; two half-brothers; foster brothers and sisters and their spouses,
Barbara and Alfred Plantz of Dayton, and Jo Ann Griffin, June and Richard Mans,
Scotty and Pam Lamb, and Richard and Donna Lamb, all of Fairborn, and a special
cousin, Myrtle Foust, of Huber
Heights. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madge (Back) Jones in 1982: birth

2007, at her residence. She was born March 11, 1978, in Dayton to Burton and
Deborah Hinds Jones. Tammie was a 1997 graduate of Fairborn High School and
graduated from Miami Jacobs Business College. She is survived by her parents of
Fairborn; one son, Logan Carson Lewis; one sister, Brandy Jones and Jeremiah
Rose of Fairborn; one brother, Monnie Jones and Katie of Fairborn; grandmothers,
Martha Littleton of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Lona Jones of Fairborn; aunts,
