Peterson, Helga -March 25, 1917 - September, 2007 The old saying, "Our loss is Heaven's gain" is so very true in this case. Helga Peterson became a Christian at the age of 18. She spent her whole adult life in the service of God. The Clear Creek Evangelical Free Church stands today as a direct result of work done by Miss Helga Peterson and dear Verna Thompson who passed on a few years ago. Helga came to Kentucky to go to Bible camp and Bible school for just the summer. She stayed in a log cabin with Miss Verna Thompson. At summer's end she sought God, asking Him should she stay here in Kentucky. It was our good fortune the answer was "Yes!" The work wasn't easy because lots of times she had to walk up creeks and hollows. Finally, she had a horse to ride, then a model A Ford. Because of hard work and dedication the Clear Creek Evangelical Free Church came into existence and was dedicated to God on April 27, 1958. Both Helga Peterson and Verna Thompson moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1984. They lived in a retirement village there. Helga touched the lives of many people in several states. God used her to lead souls to Him until her death. She never stopped telling people about Jesus. What rewards she must have in Heaven! There will be a memorial service for Helga Peterson October 23, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Clear Creek Evangelical Free Church. Everyone is welcome to come. Price, Timothy Scott -It is with a sad heart I will try to write the obituary of my little grandson, Timothy Scott Price, the son of James and Betty (Givens) Price. Born Oct 22,1967; died March 1, 1972.  Making his stay with us 4 years 4 months, 8 days. Timmy was a crippled baby from birth. He was born with an open spine. He spent a lot of his life in the Children's Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.  He had about 13 operations, 3 0r 4 on his back, the rest on his head. He was a real sweet and intelligent little boy, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He would talk and say such sweet words, that we will never forget.   Those little words will always ring in our ears. It would lay and talk to Jesus. He would say "Come On Jesus" He'd lay and watch other kids play and beg me to let him walk. That would nearly break my heart to hear him say I want to walk and there was nothing I could do for him.   He would tell his friends that he couldn't walk, but I know he is walking with the Angels now. We hated so bad to give him up, but God knew what was best for him. He would sing such sweet songs .   He would sing (Take Me Home Country Roads) and (Bridge Over Troubled Waters). It would make any one cry to listen to him sing. I can't help but wonder why God took him so quick, but he needed another flower in Heaven.  So he picked our little one. Timmy you are just another flower in the Masters bouquet. So sleep on little darling, you're at rest with God we know. Surely you Mom and Dad will make a start some day to try to make Heaven their home.  I know they will if they want to see you again. Timmy leaves his Mother and Dad, and 1 brother; 3 years old, both grandparents, and a lot of friends to morn his loss. Written by his broken hearted-grandmother Melba Givens
