Ohio, on June 24, 2009. Dennis was born November 23, 1941, the son of the late
Roy and Polly Smith Ramey. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 infant
baby brother, grandparents, several aunts, uncle, and cousins. He is survived by
his wife of 47 years: Glenda Faye Goble Ramey; 1 son: Doug (Amy) Ramey; 1
grandson: Dakota Ramey; 1 granddaughter: Dallas Marie Ramey; 1 brother: Jim
(Jane) Ramey of Columbus, Ohio; 5 sisters: Jewall Green, Racine Moore, Sharon
(Jim) Harvey, Sandra (Floyd) Hayhurst, all of Columbus, Ohio, and Patty (Jim)
Wood of Whitesburg, Ky.; 1 uncle: Jinnings Ramey of Kindeville, Ind.; 3 aunts:
Arkie Patton of Leburn, Ky.; Opal Newland, and Violet R. White of Ohio; and a

held on June 27, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Crouse, Kauber, Saammons Funeral Home in
Johnstown, Ohio. Interment followed at the Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown,

Ramey, Polly age 91, of Leburn, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at
the Ohio State University Medical Center at Columbus, Ohio. She was born in
Softshell, Kentucky on September 5, 1916 to Rich Smith and Emmaline Terry Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Roy Ramey; 2 brothers: Everett and
Horace Smith; 3 sisters: Nealie Gayheart, Nellie Coburn and Larnie Smith; 1
infant son. She is survived by her children: Dennis (Glenda) Ramey, Jewell
Green, Racine Moore, Harold (Jane) Ramey, Sharon (Jim) Harvey, Sandra (Floyd)

Ramey, Ronald ~ age 53 of Leburn, passed away December 13, 2009, at his mother's
home. He was born May 25, 1956. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and a member
of Montgomery Baptist Church. He was the son of Delphia Terry Ramey of Leburn &
the late Duke Ramey, and the husband of Cheryl Combs Ramey. He is survived by 1
son: John Duke Ramey of Richmond; 2 brothers: Tommy (Shirley) Ramey of Leburn, &
Sonny (Vicky) Ramey of Danville; 1 sister: Joan Ramey of Leburn, and a host of

She was a homemaker and a member of the Estill Freewill Baptist Church. She was
the wife of the late Dallas Casebolt & Roy Rasnick. She is survived by 1

Ring, Sarah age 87, of Garrett, Ky., widow of Byron (A.B.) Ring,
passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Riverview Healthcare Center,
Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She was born November 28, 1919 in Knott County, Ky., the
daughter of the late Noah Inmon and Elizabeth Coburn Inmon. Mrs. Ring was a
Cook/Supervisor at the Jenny Wiley State Park and member of the Martin Branch
Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, James D. Ring and
daughter-in-law but daughter in heart, Candace Ring, Garrett, Ky., a daughter,
Eva Elizabeth Molloy and son-in-law, Jim Molloy, Cincinnati, Oh., a grandson and
apple of her eye, James Byron Ring, a sister at heart, Imagene Gibson, a
granddaughter at heart, Leona Atkins and a host of nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and four sister,

friends. She was preceded in death by a son: Thomas E. Ritchie and several

a.m. at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home Chapel in Hindman, with Jr. Whitaker,

He was bom May 17, 1916, in Knott County, the son of the late Gabe and Vina
Fugate Ritchie. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Montgomery
Baptist Church. He was the husband of the late Elsie Smith Watts Ritchie. He is
survived by 1 son: Ray (Brenda) Ritchie of Rome City, Indiana; 3 daughters: Rema
(Garrett) Hunter of Hindman, Ida (David) Hughes of Hindman, & Linda (Chuck)
Millberg of Albion, Indiana; 1 stepdaughter: Jada (Shane) Tyler of Rome City,
Indiana; 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren& 9 great great grandchildren; a
host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.He was preceded in death by his
parents; 8 brothers: Ishmael, Chester, Joe, Everett, Adam, Martin, Sirus &

He was born on August 25, 1947, in Knott County, Kentucky, a son of Daniel Ritchie and Janice Singleton Ritchie. Ritchie, Ernest -age 70, died Tuesday, July 20,
2004 in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the Select Hospital, following a seven month
illness. Ernest was born January 5, 1934 in Knott Co., Kentucky to General Lee
"Bud" and Lona Cones Ritchie. Ernest has lived in Stroh, Indiana most of his
life. He is survived by one daughter; Stacey Stewart, of White Pigeon,
Michigan; three sons, Matt Ritchie and Mark Ritchie, both of White Pigeon,
Michigan, and Billy Joe Ritchie of Alabama; two grandchildren and one
great-grandson; four sisters, Mayoma Doberson, of Auburn, and Roseann Crank, of
Louisville, Kentucky, Zena Merrill of Dun, Tennessee, and Dora Hurt of Hardburly,
Kentucky. He is preceded in death of five brothers, two sisters,
two daughters, and a son. Funeral is from noon to 1 p.m, Friday at Hutchins

January 2, 2010, at her home. She was born March 30, 1942, to Vernon Slone of
Knott Co., and the late Geneva (Hughes) Slone. She was a homemaker, attended
the Regular Baptist Church, and enjoyed needlepoint and gardening. She was
preceded in death by her husband & mother: 2 grandsons: Carl Junior and Carl
Raymond Slone. She is survived by her father; 2 daughters: Josephine Slone of

Ritchie, Ishmael 92, of Milan, died Wednesday,
March 19, 2003 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville. He was born
October 26, 1910 in Dwarf, KY the son of Abijah and Flora Mae (Combs) Ritchie,
both deceased. He married Lucinda (Cornett) Ritchie on April 7, 1934 and she
survives. Other survivors include three sons, W. Roger Ritchie of Cincinnati,
OH, twin sons, Philip Ritchie of Blue Belle, PA, Harold Ritchie of Belle Vue,
WA, one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Gifford of Cincinnati, OH, one brother, Asbel
Ritchie of Canaan, one sister, Mollie Hoskins of Florida, ten grandchildren and
twelve great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ritchie attended school at Hindman, KY and later attended Morehead College
where he received his teaching certificate. He taught in schools in Kentucky,
Dillsboro and Sunman and was active in the Civil Conservation Corps during WWII.
He also farmed and sold produce and was known as the "Honey Man" to many people.
He retired as an inspector for the Indiana State Highway Department. He was a
member of the Milan First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, having served as
Sunday school teacher and superintendent and sang in the choir.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 21, 6-8 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral
Home in Milan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 11 a.m. at the
Milan First Baptist Church with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in
the New Craven Cemetery in Milan. Memorials may go to the donor's choice.

robbers and killed.

Martha PATRICK, married in Perry Co Sec. 1834; came to Arkansas in 1850 with
brothers Hiram, Nicholas & sisters Polly & Oma. Probably buried in
Dutton Cemetery (Unmarked) Here is the obit of ISOM RITCHIE, most records have him living to be over a
100 years old, so that was wrong, I have a copy of his obit, he is , Buried
in the Yale cemetery, Johnson County in an unmarked grave--but we know the
gravesite.

Thursday, December 22, 2004, at Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hazard,
Kentucky. She was born on October 29, 1937, in Knott County, Kentucky, a
daughter of Isom Cornett and Emaline Smith Cornett. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Charles Ritchie and sister, Maxine Smith. She is survived by
one son, Richard Ritchie of Hazard, Kentucky; one daughter, Danetta (Robert)
Noble of Fisty, Kentucky; four brothers, Fontaine Grigsby, Eugene Cornett, Frank
Cornett and Fred Cornett; one sister, Gladiola Colwell; two grandchildren, Ryan

Ritchie, R. B. -age 72, of Beattyville, Ky., die don Tuesday, April 19,
2005, at his home. He was born on June 9, 1932, in Hindman, Kentucky, the son of
the late Robert Carson and Dora Bell (Campbell) Ritchie. He was a retired coal
miner for the A.C. Riddles Company in Hindman. He was also a U.S. Army veteran,
having served in the Korean War, and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church,
in Beattyville, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Teresa
Ritchie and Helen Bowling; one stepson, Roy Slone; three sisters; and one
brother. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Irene (Slone) Ritchie; three
sons, Denzil Ritchie of Irvine, Kentucky, Boyd Ritchie of Kendallville, Indiana,
and Dan Ritchie of Beattyville, Kentucky; three daughters, Lillie Hall and Jo
Slone, both of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Marlene Holden of Rome City,
Indiana; one brother, Herman Ritchie of Fisty, Kentucky; two sisters, Norma Jean
Lass and Elmira Ritchie, both of Chicago, Illinois; 25 grandchildren; 21

Ritchie, Vicy Jane (Acord) -KUNA MATRON PASSES AWAY. Funeral services for Vicy Jane Ritchie 82, who died Tuesday at the home of her son Zed Ritchie were held at the Baptist church in Kuna at 2: 30, Wednesday afternoon .The Robinson Mortuary in Meridian had charge of the services. Mrs. Vicy Jane Ritchie was born 1856 in Clarksville, Arkansas. At the age of 19, she was converted and baptized into the fellowship of the Center Point Baptist church, she married Miles Ritchie to which this union was born 6 sons and three daughters, four of whom have passed away. In 1917 Mrs. Ritchie was widowed and has since then lived with her youngest son Zed Ritchie. On April 14, she was called to her eternal home from her temporary residence at Kuna, Idaho, at the age of 82 years old. She is survived by her brother Jack Cardon of Pryor, Oklahoma, six children, 25 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, as well as many friends. for Zed Ritchie, 84, Kuna, Idaho, who died Friday in a Boise nursing home, will
be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday in Robison Jerread Chapel of the chimes, Meridian,
by the Rev William Higgins of Kuna First Baptist church, interment will follow
in Kuna cemetery. Zed was born Sept 4, 1896 in Johnson County Arkansas, where he
was reared and educated, the son of Miles Ritchie & Vicy Jane (Acord) Ritchie.
He married Alice Day on Oct 14, 1917 in Friley, Arkansas. He served in the Army
during World war I in 1935, they moved to Kuna, Idaho, where they farmed until
he retired in 1960. He was a member of the Kuna First Baptist church and World
War I veterans Barracks No 0459, Nampa, Idaho. Survivors include his wife Alice
of Kuna, three sons, James Haskell Ritchie of Eden, Idaho, William E Ritchie of
Rollinsville, Colorado, two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Thelma) Mulvania of Boise and
Mrs. Cecil (Betty) Arnold of Kuna, 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a grandson. Memorials
may be made to Kuna First Baptist church. Pallbearers were Dean, David, James,
Kenneth, Daniel and Martin Ritchie, Randy , Larry and Rick Arnold and Caesar

at the Knott County Nursing Home. He was born in Knott County on January 17,

Roberts, Patricia W. -of Indianapolis,
Indiana, passed away February 23, 2006, in Miller Manor Nursing Home, Fishers,
Indiana, after a long battle with Lupus and other serious medical problems. She
was born September 20, 1937, in Marlboro, Massachusetts to Phillip W. and
Kathleen (Kennedy) Small. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was
married to James H. Roberts, a former resident of Hindman, Kentucky. They had
one daughter Christine A. Lee of Indianapolis. Her sister, Barbara Sullivan of
Southboro, Massachusetts and three grandchildren of Indianapolis survive. Burial
took place in the Washington Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, under the direction of
Harry Moore Mortuary. Mrs. Roberts was a devoted wife and mother and loved
animals and enjoyed spending time outdoors working with her flower gardens.

Friday, May 12, 2006 at Oak Creek Terrace. Patsy was born on March 29, 1915 in
Beattyville, Kentucky to Thomas T. and Florence C. (Davis) Steele. She was
preceded in death by her husband of 37 years Harrison, her parents, two brothers
Elmer and John T. Steele, and a sister Eugenia Steele. She is survived by her
three children Jerome Daugherty and his wife Wanda of Miamisburg, Carlie
Domansky and her husband Edward of Kettering and Janice Evans and her husband
Norman of Centerville; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Patsy

Roberts, William Earl- Age 63 of Franklin, Ohio passed away Saturday
April 8, 2006 at Sycamore Hospital Emergency Room. He was born September 1, 1942
in Owsley Co., Kentucky the son of Wesley and Myrtle (Johnson) Roberts. William
graduated from Lima High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War
and he worked at Unico Co. and the Celina City Schools in maintenance for 28
years. He was also a member of St. Pauls UCC in Rockford, Ohio where he served
two years on the Consistory. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Louise
Ferguson who he married November 4, 1972. He also leaves a daughter Heather
(Joe) Kouts of Franklin; two grandchildren Kayla and Katrina Kouts; and two
sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:00 p.m. at the
Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd St. Franklin. Visitation will begin at 11:00
a.m. Tuesday. Burial in Woodhill Cemetery with Military Honors.

in McKee, Kentucky on July 23, 1922 the son of Pleasant and Mary (Marcum) Rose.
Vester was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WWII. He was a member
of Governors Park Baptist Church. On April 8, 1974 in Oneida, Tennessee he
married Evelyn Chambers. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Rose of Fairfield;
two stepchildren, Kathy Jordan and Roy Phillips, both of Fairfield; one brother,
Ed Rose of Connersville, Indiana; two sisters, Ella Mae Gabbard and Lizzie Ellen
Gabbard, both of Connersville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Mitzi Meyer of
Middletown, Rodney and Darin Jordan, both of Fairfield, Christopher Phillips and
Tammi Phillips, both of Hamilton; fifteen great-grandchildren and also one
special great-grandson Dustin Jordan, whom he loved dearly; and two great-great

Ross, Wanda C. age 84, of Dayton, OH and formerly of Lewisburg, OH, passed away Monday, April 10, 2006 at Dayton Heart Hospital. Born September 15, 1921 in Knott Co., KY to the late Bryant & Maggie (Calhoun) Combs. Mrs. Ross was a member of Victory Hill Church of God in Trotwood. Along with her husband Virgil, they were the former owner/operators of Linda's Family Inn on W. Third St. in Dayton; the Midway Motel and Restaurant in Lewisburg and J & R Motel and Restaurant in Lewisburg. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Virgil R. Ross on March 27, 1997: brothers Elige, Sheldon, Shearl, Townsel and Ivan Combs: sisters Chelsea Marks and Olga "Pat" Bowman. Survived by daughter Linda Matheny & husband Russell of Trotwood: grandsons Ricky Banks & wife Melissa of Lewisburg; James Banks of West Alexandria, OH; and Paul Doughman, III & fiancé Kissy Littleton of Trotwood, OH: 11 great grandchildren: 1 great great granddaughter: and brother Glenn Hall of Huber Heights, OH. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Victory Hill Church of God on W. Third St. in Trotwood. Pastor Ralph Stacy presiding. Routley, Charlene T. Age 80, of Centerville passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at St. Leonards Senior Living Community, Centerville, OH. Charlene was the oldest of nine children born to Mary (Sergent) and Charlie Tolliver in Letcher County, Ky. on November 4, 1928. Charlene was a member of Oak Creek United Church of Christ, Kettering; the Kettering Mothers Singers, and Centerville Teachers Association. She attended Union College, Berea University, Miami University, Wright State University, and the University of Dayton. She was a life-long school teacher, serving over 60 years as an educator. Charlene retired from Dr. John Hole Elementary School after 30 years of service. Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Albert P. Routley; daughter Mary H. Heath; sisters Charlcie Martin and Geraldine Harding; brother-in-law Rogers Touchmann and sisters-in-law Pat Tolliver and Helen Kahn. Charlene is survived by her sons Albert (Lynda) Routley of Kettering, OH and John Charles (Gloria) Routley of Kettering, OH; daughters Paula R. (Stan) Behringer of Centerville, OH and Joanne Moore of Kettering, OH; son-in law Bill Heath (Joan) of Kettering; grandchildren Chris and Beth Routley, Emily (Pat) Triola, Todd (Kathy) Heath, Elizabeth A. Behringer, Rickey Allen Shockey, Sara Ann Shockey, Jessica Moore and Jason Mayer; great-grandchildren Liza and Chelsea; brothers and sisters Carley (Josephine) Tolliver, Charles Tolliver, Pauline Touchmann, Johnny Tolliver, Mattie (Bill) Bond, and Denver Tolliver; and sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Kibby. Charlenes life was dedicated to teaching and making a difference for children and for her family. Her cooking was legendary. She touched many lives and made the world a better place. Special thanks to her dear niece and nephew, Tracy (Kevin) Bowers and Jeff (Cerytine) Bond. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, OH. Reveren d Dr. Bob McCann of Oak Creek United Church of Christ will officiate. Family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Educational Fund at Sinclair Community College for Inner City Children or Hospice of Dayton. Roy, Ada Marie Bailey -age 81, of Sassafras, Kentucky, died Tuesday,
March 29, 2005, at Hazard ARH, Hazard, Kentucky.
She was born in Knott County, Kentucky on Mary 26, 1923, the daughter of Samuel
and Rachel Pratt Bailey. She was preceded in death by 4 sons: Gilbert, Clyde,
Ellis and Kenneth Gregory. She is survived by 2 sons: Robert Gregory, Virgil
Gregory of Sassafras, Kentucky, 2 daughters: Tammy Hayes, Tanya Belew; 1
brother: Curtis Estep; 1 sister Eva Sizemore; 19 grandchildren and a host of
great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 1, at 2 p.m.
at Smithsboro Baptist Church, with Dick Bowers, Glenn Noe and Jerry Workman
officiating. Burial followed at Pratt Cemetery, Sassafras, Kentucky,
under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services, Hindman, Kentucky.

Rudder, Marjorie ~ age 83 of Martin, passed away November 18, 2008, at the
St. Joseph-Martin Hospital. She was born May 13, 1925, at Blackey, Ky. Funeral
services were held Friday, November 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Nelson Frazier
Funeral Home in Martin with Ted Shannon and Chester Varney officiating. Burial
followed at the Davidson Memorial Gardens at Ivel under the direction of the

Hall, Maurice Ray ~ age 72 of Topmost, passed away August 27, 2009, at King's
Daughters Hospital-Ashland. He was born April 24, 1937, in Knott County. He
was a retired coal miner, a member of the U.M.W.A. and a U.S. Navy and Korean
War Veteran. He was the son of the late Milton and Rosetta Caudill Hall and the
husband of Zelphia (Becky) Piper Hall. He is survived by a son: Phillip Ray Hall
(Beth) of Belleville, Michigan; 4 daughters: Lisa Kay Abbot of Dexter, Michigan,
Brenda Williams and Michelle Hall, both of Michigan and Teresa Hall of Indiana;
2 brother: Tony Hall of Rose City, Michigan and Randall Hall (Eula) of Topmost,
Kentucky; 2 sisters: Peggy Allen (Ronald) of Westland, Michigan; and Pamela
Justice of Alderson, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He
was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter: Karen Hall; and a brother:
Kenneth Hall. Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 30, 2009, at 1 p.m.
at the Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin. Burial followed at the Joe Hall
Cemetery on Dry Creek in Topmost.

Russell, David -age 91, of Lotts Creek, passed away
May 21, 2007 at his home. He was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on November
13, 1915 to Harlas and Martha Stacy Russell. He was preceded in death by his
wife: Mabel Hurt; sisters: Lunah Pitts and Anna Dee Brewer; brother: William
Manford Russell. He is survived by 8 children: Esther Sue (Robert) Karatz, Bud (Clella)
Russell, Carol (Ralph) Smith, Vivian (Ron) Estepp, Richard (Margaret) Russell,
Blanche (Bobby) Caudill, Linda (Marvin) Combs and Ruth (Vernon) Slone; 9
grandchildren: Dan Russell, Scott Russell, Jeffrey Smith, Michael Caudill, Jody
Estepp, Sue Santiago, Amanda Estepp, Mark Combs and Tony Russell; 16 great
grandchildren: Brett, Brittany, Brady, Bradley, Ryan, Mikalyn, Cassedy, Shiloh,
Gabriella, Olivia, Fernando, Cassidy, Seth, Sailor, Seanna, and Arianna; Sister
- Rilda Bee Gayheart. Funeral services were held at the Happy Freewill Baptist
Church, Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rodney Smith, Jody Maggard and
Mark Combs officiating. Burial followed in the Russell Family Cemetery at Lotts
Creek, Ky., under the direction of Hindman Funeral.
