Smith and Minnie Martin Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Vance, one son; Billy Gordon Vance, one daughter; Avanelle Hall. Vance, Mr. Dempsey "Jack" age 84, of Franklin,
Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2004 at The V.A. Medical Center in
Cincinnati where he had been a patient for six weeks. He was born January 18,
1920 in Hazard, Kentucky and had lived in the Middletown/Franklin area since
1950. He served in the U. S. Army during W.W. II. He was a foreman at McGraw
Construction where he was employed for 32 years, retiring in 1982. He was a
member of the Laborers Local 510 of Middletown. He was preceded in death by
parents, Henry Rolland and Nancy Ann (Ratliff) Vance; 3 daughters, Reva Jean
Furnace, Nancy Ann Sigler, and Sandra Vance; 6 brothers; 1 sister. He is
survived by wife of 62 years, Ruby Vance; 4 sons, Huey Wayne Higdon, wife
Phyllis – Middletown, Ohio, Carl D. Vance, wife Jean – Oxford, Ohio, H. R. Vance
III, wife Paula – Harker Heights, Texas, Kenneth Michael Vance – Middletown,

Hazard ARMC. He was born in Knott County on March 15, 1914 to George Washington
Vance and Attie Amburgey Vance. He was preceded in death by his wife: Olive
Vance; son: Aaron Vance; grandson: Edwin Vance. He is survived by sons: Ivis
(Jeanette) Vance, Hayden (Glenna) Vance, George C. "Shot" (Joyce) Vance and

Vance, Ironton Jr.-age 52, of Topmost, Kentucky, died Tuesday, November
22, 2005, at Kite, Kentucky. He was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on
January 9, 1953, the son of the Ironton Sr. and Lillie Mae Honeycutt Vance. He
was preceded in death by three brothers: Gary Vance, Wayne Vance and Darrell
Vance; one sister: Wanda Fay Vance; parents. He is survived by one son: Joseph
Ironton Vance; one daughter: Cassie Vance; four sisters: Sue (Emil) Short, Kathy

Vance, Reaber Lona Blankenship Plaster -MANSFIELD -- Reaber Lona
Blankenship Plaster Vance, 90, died Thursday, April 18, 2008, at Triumph
Hospital. Born on June 21, 1917, in Buckhannon, Va., she was the daughter of
Charlie and Frances Owens Blankenship. Reaber was a member of Laver Road
Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to shop and while she was in Virginia, she
enjoyed canning. Reaber loved her family and friends, and especially loved
spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, JoAnn Reedy
of Mansfield; son, Dallas Plaster of Shelby; three stepchildren, Bonnie
(Gardner) Bailey of Tennessee, Patsy Vance, and Joan Vance, both of Virginia;
six grandchildren, Judy Johnson Grassel, Sharon Johnson Hindes, Lester Johnson
Jr., Bradley Johnson, Doug Plaster, and Greg Plaster; four great-grandchildren,
Christopher and Nolan Hindes, and Samantha and Dustin Scott; two
great-great-grandchildren, Austin Scott and Jayden Winter; and numerous
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband,
Blake C. Plaster; second husband, Lacy Vance; great-grandson, Brandon Scott;
brothers, Adam, Lawson, McKinley and Edward Blankenship; sisters, Dolly Cominsky,
Bernadine Dye, Kaye Haley Pruett-Smith. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Monday,
April 21, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral
services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, conducted by the

Vanderpool, Billy J. -age 76, of Waynesville, Ohio, died Sunday, April 2,
2006, at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. He was born June 12, 1929, to A.J.
and Maud Vanderpool in Pumkin Center, Kentucky. He received both a Bachelors
and Masters Degree from Morehead State University and retired from Wayne Local
Schools after 30 years of teaching. He was a member of the Cornerstone
Community Church in Franklin, Ohio and greatly enjoyed fishing, gardening, music
and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son
Jeff in 1999 and his parents. He is survived by his wife: Helen, married for
51; two grandchildren: Nicholas and Justin; one brother: Bobby (Marian)
Vanderpool of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky; one sister: Peggy (Don) Adams of Bowling
Green, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 5, at 11 a.m., at Stubbs-Conner
Funeral Home, Waynesville, Ohio, with Roger Dale McCloud and Lonnie Peters
officiating. Burial followed in the Miami Cemetery, Corwin, Ohio, under the

Vasquez, Ernestine "Tina" 48, of Springfield unexpectedly went to be with
her Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2006. She was born September 29, 1957
in Hindman, Kentucky the daughter of The Rev. Dee and Herma (Terry) Everidge. Tina had attended Sinclair College and Clark State
University. She was employed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a
Financial Manager and was a member of Middle Urbana Missionary Baptist
Church. She is survived by her husband of twenty six years Eliazar "Eli"
Vasquez; two daughters Jennifer and Julie Vasquez; a granddaughter Michiah
Hammond, all of Springfield; one brother and sister-in-law Odean and Surgi
Everidge of Springfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law Lou Carol and Archie
Mills of Springfield and Debbie and Davis Mollett of Mechanicsburg;
numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and
three sisters Inez and JoAnn Everidge, and Helen Mollett. The family will
receive visitors Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar
Memorial Home, Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the
Middle Urbana Missionary Baptist Church with The Rev. Tony Everidge

Venters, Orves E. "Jim" of Anderson, Indiana, died on Friday, October 8,
2004, at Rawling House, Pendleton, Indiana. He was born on May 21, 1921, the
son of Wallace Venters and Ida Pigman Venters. He was a member of the Chapelwood Baptist Church of Winchester, Indiana. He was a former resident of
Winchester, Indiana, retiring from the Overmyer Corporation in Winchester, in
1982. He moved to Anderson, Indiana in 2001. He was a veteran of the U.S.
Navy, serving the Pacific from 1943 to 1945. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Elizabeth Reynolds Venters; his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by a son, Earl (wife Charlotte) Venters of Anderson, Indiana;
three sisters, Olly Keen of Richmond, Kentucky, Persa (Hobart) Combs of
Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and Lula Mullins of Winchester, Kentucky; two
granddaughters, Gina (husband Mark) Henson of Anderson, Indiana and Michelle
(husband David) Fanning of Fishers, Indiana; and six great-grandchildren, Krista
Miler, Michael Miller and Emily Fanning, all of Fishers, Indiana, and Elizabeth

Vickers, Geneva -Age 78, of Trenton, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital
Hospice Unit on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 4:50 a.m. She was born in McKee,
Kentucky on June 18, 1927 the daughter of Strawther and Veron (Lakes)
Richardson. Geneva was a member of Hillbilly Clan #5 of the Hamilton Shrine
Club, and was a Kentucky Colonel. On May 7, 1945 in Drip Rock, Kentucky she was
married to Floyd Vickers. She is survived by her husband Floyd Vickers of
Trenton; one daughter, Betty and her husband Ken Singleton of Marion, Indiana;
two brothers, Larry (Linda) Richardson and Toddy (Sheila) Richardson both of
Eaton, Ohio; four sisters, Bernice (Owen) Rose of Jackson County, Kentucky,
Juanita Stevens of Eaton, Ohio, Wayvelene Combs of Berea, Kentucky, and Elease
(Dan) Quinn of Eaton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jennifer Singleton, Liz (George)
Faughnan, Melanie Vickers, Jeff (Amy) Mainous, Meritta (Bob) Harris, and Melissa
(John) Fink; and also six great-grandchildren, Alasdair, Kelsi, Mackenzie,
Taylor, Lynley, and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son,
Merit Vickers in 1993 and one sister Geraldine Rowe. Funeral service will be
held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., on Tuesday, March 21,
2006 at 1:00 p.m. with a eulogy by Liz Faughnan her granddaughter. Entombment
will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the
funeral home on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family
request memorials to the Shrine Burns Institute.
