Yates, Donald Ray -58 of Xenia, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 31, 2002 in his home. He was born April 14, 1944 in Litchfield, Ky, the son of Elmer and Mildred (Harris) Yates. Don worked at the Palladium Item in Richmond, Ind for 28 years and at Wright Patterson Air Force Base since 1989, most recently in Public Affairs. Don was an avid golfer and will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Yates. He is survived by his parents of Louisville, Ky; his wife whom he married July 14, 1963, Anna (Caudill) Yates of Xenia; his son, Monte and Mandy Yates of Beavercreek and his daughter, Delana and Faustino Zapata of Bellbrook; two sisters; Brenda Yates and Deborah Lee both of Louisville, Ky. A brother, David Yates of Louisville, Ky, four grandchildren; Gabriella & Mia Zapata and Sarah Jayne & Tess Yates and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at 2 p.m at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 n. Detroit St, Xenia, Ohio. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov, 4, 2002 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Yates, Elizabeth age 74, of Honaker, Ky., died on Fri., Oct. 22, 2004, at the Univ. of Ky. Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. Yeary, Harold G. 72 of New Carlisle, passed away Friday March 31, 2006. Harold was born September 2, 1933 in Hazard Co., KY to Ina (Combs) Fugate and Earl Yeary. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Midori (Shiiyi) Yeary; children, Mavis (Chuck) Smith, Mark Yeary, Steve Yeary, Marsha Yeary, Harold (Tina) Yeary; 11 grandchildren, Andrew (Shannon) Smith, Charles (Kristy) Smith, Mark Jr. and Chrystal Yeary, Steven Jr., Amy, and Haley Yeary, Jessica Lamonde, Travis, Justin, Holly and Nicholas Yeary, 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters, Anita Stacy, Marlene Smith, Hunter Yeary, Earl David Yeary, Buster Fugate. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, and son Harold Glen Yeary. Yenser, Martha Helen ~ age 66, of Celina, Ohio passed away Dec. 23, 2009, at her residence following a long battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 1, 1943, in Hindman to Isaac N. and Minta (Calhoun) Smith. On April 24, 1965 she married Robert C. Yenser, who survives in Celina. Surviving are two sons, Cris W. Yenser of Union, Ky., and Scott A. Yenser of Celina; four sisters, Jennie Lee (Blount) Sturgill of Lima, OH, Ella V. (Blount) McDonald, Jane Lee Ayers both of Celina, Matilda (Smith) Johnson of Covington, Ky.; a brother, Jim  Blount of Rockford, Ohio; a niece Betty Gale (Blount) Schimpf of Lima, Ohio, and seven grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers David & Jesse Smith and her sister Zola (Smith) Howard.  She graduated from Hindman High School Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 16, 2009, at the Celina Church of the Nazarene on Fairground Road, Celina, with Rev. Larry Hamilton officiating.  Burial followed in Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.

Yonts, Kenneth D. -age 58 of Leburn, Kentucky, died on Wed. November 3, 2004 at the VA Medical Center at Huntington, West Virginia.  He was born on October 10, 1946, the son of Roy Cannon Yonts and Clova Fugate Yonts. He was survived by his wife: Phyllis Ann Yonts; 4 sons: Steve Yonts and Danny Yonts of Richmond, Va., Kenny Yonts Jr. of Atlanta and Dewayne Slone of Hindman, Ky.; 1 daughter:  Kim Stegall of Atlanta; 3 brothers: Roy Yonts, Buddy Gibson and Paul Yonts; 5 sisters: Lettie Merril Mosley, Judy Jones, Joyce Owens, Colene Bentley and Betty Thacker; 5 grandchildren: Travis Edwards, Dustin Cannon Yonts, William Cannon Yonts, Alexandra Marie Yonts and Autumn Skyanne Slone. York, John -age 72, of Detroit, Michigan, formerly of Talcum, Kentucky, died on Monday, January 10, 2005, at his home. Delza Young , age 87, of Lotts Creek, Kentucky, died Tuesday May 16, 2006, at his residence.  He was born October 27, 1918, the son of the late Columbus and Louisa Caudill Young. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Eulanda Young; one brother: David and one sister: Mayme.  He is survived by one daughter: Anna (David) Dixon of Lotts Creek; one brother: Readith Young of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters: Ona Whitaker of London and Vaudia Combs of Bulan, three grandchildren: Sean (Pam) Dixon, Shanie (Brandon) Thomas and Staci (Steve) Walker; three great-grandchildren: Brayden Thomas, Ronnie Long and Katlyn Walker; seven step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild.  Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m., at the Clear Fork Regular Baptist Church, with Charles Shepherd, Carl Slone, Don Pratt and HB Reedy officiating.   Burial followed in the Martin Feltner Cemetery, Clark Fork, Kentucky, under the direction of Hindman Funeral Services, Hindman, Kentucky.

Young, Eliza Mullins -age 87, of Mitchell, Indiana, formerly of Knott County, Kentucky, died on Monday December 13, 2004, at Mitchell Manor Nursing Home, Mitchell, Indiana.   She was born on December 2, 1917, the daughter of William Letcher Mullins and Marinda Nickles Mullins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vollie Young.  She is survived by one brother, Chester Mullins of Sassafras, Kentucky, one sister, Alta Slone of Mitchell, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, December 15, at 11:00 a.m., at Hindman Funeral Services Chapel, Hindman, Kentucky, with Don Pratt officiating.  Burial followed in Carr Fork Memorial Cemetery, Litt Carr, Kentucky.

Young, Eulanda -age 86, of Young's Fork of Lotts Creek, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at her home, after a long illness. She was born on October 27, 1918, at Lotts Creek, the daughter of Martin Feltner and Rhoda Stacy Feltner. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Clear Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Delza Young; one daughter, Anna Dixon and her husband David of Lotts Creek; two granddaughters, Shani (Brandon) Thomas and Staci (Steve) Walker; one grandson, Sean (Pam) Dixon; one brother, Wiburn Feltner; one sister, Nancy Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Ronnie Long, Brayden Thomas and soon-to-be Katlyn Suzanne Walker; seven step great-grandchildren; and one step great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, June 5, at 2:00 p.m., at Clear Fork Old Regular Baptist Church, with Charles Shepherd, Carl Slone, Don Pratt and H.B. Young, J.C. ~ age 86, of Fisty, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at his home. He was born in Knott County on February 8, 1923, to Kelly Young and Dicie Ritchie Young. He was preceded in death by his wife: Charity Young; 2 grandchildren: Oneal Wayne Draughn and Miranda Travis Young; 1 great grandchild: Kylee Jayne. He is survived by 4 sons: Randall Lynn (Jean) Young, John Charles (Ellen) Young, Scott (Connie) Young and Travis (Beth) Young; 2 daughters: Pamela K. Young, Julius was the son of William and Dyance Young, born in 1877 and died Dec 22 1966. He was married to Virgie Amburgey and they had 11 children; 2 died in infancy and his son Lafayette died in 1963. Surviving children: Dorothy Thornsberry Smith, Mousie Ky, Rachel Collins, Ethel Collins, Dyance Asher, all of Indiana; Davada Durham, Bethel Fields, and Alta Amburgey of Florida, and Betty Jane Combs of Sassafras, Ky; Five sisters, Arbell Young, Florence Young, Rachel Amburgey, and Alice Combs; two brothers Manton Young of Redfox, Ky and Columbus Young of Hazard, Ky. He made his home with his daughter, Dorothy Thornsberry Smith of Mousie, Ky.

Young, Patsy S. -age 47 of Sidney, Ky., wife of Tracy Young, passed away Friday, May 19, 2006 at the Select Specialty-Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Ky. following an extended illness. She was born on August 5, 1958 in Sidney. She was the daughter of the late Mart & Gladys Slone Smith. She was a homemaker. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son: Stephen Varney of Sidney; a daughter: Tracey Nicole Weddington of Meta; a brother: Robert Smith of Sidney; two sisters: Kathy May and Wanda Smith, both of Sidney; and a grandson: Etahn Ra'Shawn Varney. Funeral services will be Monday, May 22, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Dix Fork Old Regular Baptist Church at Sidney, with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at 5 p.m. at the church, and burial will be in the Smith Family Cemetery at Sidney.

Youmans, Kathryn Turner, age 72 of Minnie, KY, passed away, Monday June 24, 2002, at the University of Kentucky  Medical Center, Lexington, KY.  She was born March 25, 1930, in Minnie, KY, the daughter of the late William Turner and Lorraine Johnson Turner.  She was a retired teacher; formerly employed by the Floyd County School system, a member of the Drift Women’s Club, the ARH Auxiliary, and the McDowell-Minnie Senior citizens.  Survivors include two sons, Robert Duane Youmans and Darrell Youmans, both of Minnie, KY; one daughter, Delilah Lorraine “Midge” Youmans Blackburn of Minnie, KY; one brother, W.C. “Buster” Turner of Minnie, KY; two sisters, Euka Hicks of Minnie, KY, and Mary Ellen Maggard of Drift, KY; and three grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Lenville “Bub” Turner, and one sister, Gertrude T.
