JAMES "SUMMER JIM" SLONE
The house was built in 1802 by Shade Slone He was the GGGGrandfather of Verna Mae Slone. She said her That her GGGrandfather Billie slone lived there and it became her Grandfather Jim Slones in 1876, Her father Kitteneye bought it in 1901 and lived there,and then gave it to her brother Vince Slone in 1923. It was torn down and moved from the mouth of Trace and rebuilt at the mouth of Short Fork. Some of the logs are still in the barn. This is where she grew up. Verna Mae is the Auther of 2 or 3 books she wrote of growing up there...Info from Kathy Grady
