The Commonwealth  vs.  James Strauther   On the presentment of the Grand Jury for drunkenness The defendant being proved guilty of drunkenness as presented, it is considered by the court that for his said offense  he be fined 83 cents & pay the costs of this prosecution & may be taken.

The Commonwealth  vs. Pleasant Horn   On a present. of the Grand Jury for neglect of duties as surveyor of a road. Upon hearing the evidence on behalf of the Commonwealth it is considered by the court that the defendant be fined fifteen shillings & pay the costs in this behalf expended. 

The Commonwealth On a present. of the Grand Jury against them as surveyors of roads for neglect of duty  vs.   Christopher Gose, James McKinney, John Cole, Alexander Montgomery, John Halton, George Stacy, Robert Gibson, Samuel Williams, Samuel Gibson, George Vaught, James Sergent, James Gray, James Elliott and Abraham Fuller.                                                                              For reasons appearing to the Court it is ordered that these presentments be dismissed.

William Price who was fined at the last forum for non attendance as a Grand Juryman this day appeared in court and having shown sufficient cause of his inability to attend it is considered by the court that he be excused for his non attendance.

Commonwealth  vs.   Nathaniel Hooper    Presentment for profane swearing  It is considered by the court upon hearing the evidence that this presentment be dismissed.

Commonwealth  vs.  William Newman & the same against John Elliott.  Upon summoned to show cause against filing information for a breach of the peace. The defendants appeared in Court, but failing to show such cause it is ordered that the attorney for the Commonwealth do file information's against them for the cause aforesaid.

The Commonwealth  vs.  Jesse Morton     presentment  The summons awarded in this case at the last term not being executed it is ordered that a new sum be awarded.

The Commonwealth vs.  George Vaught     On a summons to show cause if any he can why an information should not be filed against him upon a presentment of the Grand Jury for reselling   spirituous liquors contrary to law.     (cont. next page)         

Page 371                                                                                                                                           The defendant appeared in court & by his attorney moved that the said presentment be dismissed because the day on which the spirituous liquors were alleged to have been rendered is not stated in the presentment & this proceedings thereon be quashed & that the debt go thereof without day.

On the motion of Thomas Price who has given information to the court that one Thomas Paschal and his wife  who are parishioners in this county have certain negroes for the services of whom persons can be found, who will support the said Paschal & wife clear of charge to the county; it is ordered that the said Thomas Paschal be summoned to appear here on the first day of the next (August) court to show cause if any he can why he shall not give up the said negroes to such person or persons as will so support him,  of the court upon hearing the whole matter shall think proper so to direct.

James Moss, gent.  who hath been appointed a Justice of the Peace for this county, this day appeared in Court & took the oath prescribed by law for the suppression of Dueling,  the oath of Fidelity to the Commonwealth, the several oaths of office & the oath to support the Constitution of the United States.

On the motion of  George Stacy  who intermarried with Agnes Culbertson  administrator of Joseph Culbertson, decd.   The statement made by  Samuel Ritchie, Sr & John Berry  the 11th March 1812 & recorded the 7th of April following is confirmed & the said George Stacy relinquishes any Right he may have for the raising & schooling of the descendants children excepting the use of the money till it becomes payable to the heirs.

James Dickenson, Samuel Ewing & J  Davison are by the court recommended to his Excellency the Governor as fit persons------------do not have page 372.
